Story: Norman Worker
Art: Felmang
First Published by Semic/ Egmont: 23/ 1987
I know this doesnt come out for a week for Australian readers but the Semic/ Egmont readers would have seeing it was first released back in 1987. Weve got "Diana's New Job" next another 'classic' story as well.
I voted average, wasnt a classic by any reasoning and the artwork was a bit stiff and uneventful for my likeing. _________________ Germ

Something that you can and want to read over and over again in a very short period of time and then dig it out amongst the other hundreds of Phantom comics and pick it up and want to read again.
imho this didnt fit that category, it was not bad but I wont be rushing to read it again... _________________ Germ

I was going to vote ave, but then I changed it to poor. The story was to jumpy, and had to many holes, and it was just a jumble of stuff that left to many holes to be connected.
It was a badly written story, and I think it didn't deserve to be printed either.
It really sucked imo.
In fact I much preferred that other piece of garbage the Phantom's unknown sister to this, and we all know what I thought of that as well. So that tells you how much I thought this story was bad. _________________ Phantom Rabbitoh. The ghost who supports South Sydney Rabbitohs. Team who cannot die. |

Be still you ungrateful "fan", you should be glad to get a Phantom story every now and then, even the old and "half baked" one!!

As a Phantom Phan, I have come to expect a certain level of story, and some have been below that standard, so I feel I am allowed to say so. Just because it is a Phantom story does not make it a good one. _________________ Phantom Rabbitoh. The ghost who supports South Sydney Rabbitohs. Team who cannot die. |

That is OK, I just made joke about Germ's "half baked" here! Sorry!! I think we all should say what we have in mind, and a bit often!

I voted average I thought it was a bit of a mashup - Frankenstein/Dracula - and it never reached any great heights in regards to suspense which is usually one of the main strengths of a story with a Vampire theme. _________________ 'It's the End of the World as we know it and I feel fine' |

I was also wondering why didn't they bring the hotel more into the story as well. You have the rich and famous being brought in by helicopter, so why not say a bit more the hotel and why was it so important. The story could have been just the same without the hotel being mentioned as well.
In fact the only bit I did like about the story was the Phantom's hide away, now that was pretty cool. Nothing like sharing a room with an Iron Maiden. ( just don't tell my wife I said that. LOL. ) _________________ Phantom Rabbitoh. The ghost who supports South Sydney Rabbitohs. Team who cannot die. |

Yeah, the hotel did not seem to serve much purpose for the storyline - other than as an asset that the kingdom had gained from oil. They either had to centre the story upon it or just mention it and move on. _________________ 'It's the End of the World as we know it and I feel fine' |
