I have not yet seen the cover off 15. Maybe you should post an image hear for us people who are too slack to go and look for it Wink

OK I have brought the comic today along with the Law of the Jungle. I voted average for this story and I expect that this to be expected seeing it is the first by new comer Mike Bullock and he will imporve as time goes by as most do.

The artwork was raised by someone in one of the reviews that was posted as being a little sketchy. I tend to agree that it wasnt the best but I have still seen much worse by Moonstone, Egmont and even Falk. Devil however is a disapointment.... He looks like an Aussie Blue Healer that you'ld expect to see yapping behind Steve Irwin.

Also one other thing. Why was the Phantom seen with the tigers and 'commanding' them to chase the baddies. I like the touch of the tigers getting the bad guys back but I thought he only was friends with the ones on Eden???

On the whole Mike, well done and im looking forward to pt 2 and your other upcoming stories..

Will he????

Everyone has been building this up for months that Mike Bullock will be the saviour for Moonstone's Phantom or at very least, the man to bring the character more in line with Falk's lore.

Some have even stated that this is the new starting point for the Moonstone Phantom and to disregard the earlier stories.

So with all the hype, I would expect a rip roaring adventure in the traditonal Lee Falk style of storytelling to even please the die hard Falk fans and silence the critics.

Anything less IMO would be a real dissapointment.

I will be extremel critical of no. 12 should it not live up to the expectations above, but I remain cautiously and courteously optimistic until I know different.

I agree that this should be regarded as no. 12 and not no. 1 in the series. Moonstone have had years to correct their 'mistakes' if that is what they percieve them to be, and every issue should be judged on its merit, not as part of an open-ended allowance to give writers and artists unlimited time in which to perfect their craft and understanding.

Well, it was just a question. How would I know whether you had read it?
Are you intending to read/buy it?

I added the image to your post Brucey, hope you dont mind.

I think a writer or artist is allowed one story to get the hang of the Phantom.

If you want to make an impression you must do it from the start. Considering all the fallout and collateral damage that was caused when he first took over, their is big expectations that he will deliver.

Excuses don't count!

I agree with you Jonc, this is no playground, as a customer and reader I demand a relative high quality!

OK yes he did beat himself up a bit but I personally would give him an issue to hit his straps. He will be marked at a higher expectation but its a bit unfair not to take into account his first story may be a bit of a feeler...

If not maybe you should keep the same measure of standards on ALL Phantom stories which you guys dont do..

That is a fair observation, and in my personal case I am more than happy to discuss Falk and Egmont in the spirit you suggest, indeed I always try to do this.

"Fallout", "Collateral damage"? I thought I was writing a funny book, I didn't realize I'd been conscripted into nuclear warfare. Shocked
