Script: David Bishop
Art: César Spadari
First published in Fantomen Nr.16/2006 by Egmont, Scandinavia with the title Dr Moriarty.
I have not read the story yet but in reading the message from Jim it looks like maybe we might get to see Sherlock Holmes, which could be cool. _________________ Germ

Fairly average story. Nothing new, but it is quite entertaining while it last.
Off course, it is alway nice to see Julie in stories. Shame she doesn't wear the Phantom costume, though.
We don't get to see Sherlock, but he is mentioned once. |

I don't know. There's probably no copyright on the character, so stranger things have happened. I can't recall the Phantom having met other fictional figures before... Are there other examples? |

Oh, yes. I had forgotten about that one. A very unmemorable, boring story, IMO. |

I wouldn´t count this one as a part of the Somerset-saga though.
This episode was IMHO pretty average but not bad at all. The upsides are the art , Spadari is still going strong, and the fact that is rather cool to feauture a villain from the Sherlock Holmes- "universe". Julie is a character that I like , and I want to see more adventures with her. |

Not a big fan of this story, it lacked depth - especially in regards to the Moriarty character.
Why take another fictional character from elsewhere and deposit him in a Phantom story, without including Dr. Holmes??
It would have been more interesting to make Moriarty the same from the Sherlock Holmes stories and have Holmes (& Watson) join forces with the Phantom to track him down. _________________ 'It's the End of the World as we know it and I feel fine' |

Maybe thats the plan that David has for his next story a the final page has Moriarty seeking Sherlock Holmes. _________________ Germ

Yeah, but why not go that way from the start. _________________ 'It's the End of the World as we know it and I feel fine' |

I would like to see a story where the Phantom of the day has been studying at the same university as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was inspired by one of his lecturer's powers of observation to create Sherlock Holmes. _________________ "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on, I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them."
