He also did use a gun in some of his stories!!
Honestly, I don't understand this discussion! Of course he should use internet and computers in 2006, if that is the right tool for the situation, just as he always have done' used the right tool!
But setting him, and most of a story in the net itself I don't think very much of! But that is me, and if some want it and get a share of exitement, well I am sure there will be a few more!

I agree with the idea of the Phantom being computer literate but I can't seem to grasp how on earth anyone can be injured physically while using virtual reality, unless they have a heart attack or fall out of their seat or trip over their big feet _________________ "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on, I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them."

Im no expert on such matters but seeing the electronic parts are connected to your brain for the person to see the virtual reality I would guess that the electronic pulses could also fry your brain to toast if you chickened out tried to unplug. _________________ Germ

Wasn't there a conection to the heart as well. Thus it would seem that the person has a heart attack and this is the cause of death.
Also remember that the mind is a powerful thing and it is not unreasble to say that it can't be scared to death as well. Many cultures have had experience with death simply through mind control, or someone believing that they had been cursed and thus they are to die. It seems that the body and brain can also will itself to die and thus it simply shuts down. The aboriginals had a thing called "Pointing the bone", in which they believed that this would mean that the person who had the bone pointed at them would die, and they did, simply through belief.
So in some ways it was not that unbelivable that it could also happen in cyberspace, if you are terrified enough. Remember if it is in your brain, it is real even if it is only a dream or image, you believe it, and that is what terrifies you. _________________ Phantom Rabbitoh. I hear over in perth they don't even use 10%, and even less if you attend a mexican vollyball match. |
Well seeing in an earlier thread you made a comment how Perth is behind NSW etc, that must mean we use even more than you guys as our ancestors used to actually use more than 10% of their brain. _________________ Germ

Ah yes but isn't the Phantom supposed to have incredible mind control
But your referrence to the Aboriginal Kadaitcha act of pointing the bone is only applicable if you firmly believe in that sort of thing. (So I'm told.) _________________ "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on, I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them."

It would be like sending a lightweight amature boxer to fight mike tyson. The light weight may have some skills, but is far outweighed by size and experience.

True but it was still a good battle _________________ Germ
