You are right to the core Andreas. A generation of kids, who learned their comics reading habit, through Indrajal Comics, love the Phantom more than any other character. And it's true, that companies like Euro Book/Egmont, who boast a superior financial background and international licensing, choose to demean them by printing the same set of issues for the umpteenth time.
Frankly speaking, ever since Indrajal, no comics lived up to satisfy the Phantom fan, or let alone a tribute to Lee Falk's creations. They were only been there, done that kind of work, by Diamond Comics, and the likes.
Muthu Comics is no stranger to this phenomena... they used to publish some Phantom stories with wonderful translations through 70's... but once Rani Comics picked up the mantle, they never went back to the series. Rani Comics, even though boasting a superior line-up of Phantom, only next to Indrajal, never gave them due credit, with bad story choices, and pathetic translations.
So, by the time Rani Comics closed shops, many generation of comics lovers had started despising the Phantom character with what they envisioned in Rani. If this isn't real, then atleast this was what been perceived by the publishers, and Muthu Comics, is the one to fall in the same line.
It's such a shame that a country where there are more Phantom fans than any other comic character, is being shunned out by all comics publishers, resulting in none of Lee Falk's creations not in print in any form... (if you don't count the daily strips on some odd regional newspapers).
So, it was a pleasant surprise, to see Mandrake back from hibernation in Muthu Comics, and I hope that they also give Phantom the due credit, later if not sooner
I am staying Positive

and for now I can only envy the Aussie fans on their Phantom print legacy
