I really enjoyed this story, probably the best of the series so far.

This may be because I like fantasy stories that revolve around quests and the journey that the Phantom undertakes had a similar feel to it.

hahaha, good point...

To be honest I was left a bit cold with the final part. It just seemed to end for the sake of ending and I was left with too many questions that I couldnt answer (maybe due to being spread over a few months).

How many 'lumps' did Pheonix have access to?? How did he know that the Phantom had a 'lump' and were did the Phantom get it? If he got it from Pheonix in part two, were did Pheonix get another lump?? Howdid he know how to reach the Phantom? Yes he mightve known he lived in Bengalla but that is a BIG place and he seemed to just get there without any hassle at all.

I was of the impression that there was more to come, perhaps some of the answers to these questions will become clearer in the future.

Well considering his name is Phoenix and this name comes from the bird who rises from the ashes - since he is reduced to ashes in this story I thought that it was likely that he would also rise.

If the writer wants to answer some of them, then he could probably come up with something.

Have you ever seen "lost" or any other serie like that on TV? Well, a new part will be made if there is interest among the readers.
That is how things work at Egmont right now! I have not seen part 4 yet, but part 3 was some of the worse example of how it is possible (or maybe not) make 32 pages of nothing.

Sort of reminded me of Tigre's Blod prt. 1 that way!

You are wrong, but I see that I misled you. What I ment was that both stories could easely have been told on 5 or 8 pages instead of what we got.

My "vandetta", if there is any, is aginst bad Phantom stories, from all parts of the world.

I see what you mean by that but 5 or 8 pages is a little of an exhagaration

Just that you are very much louder when it comes to Moonstone than Egmont Wink

True, and if you have been reading my posts, you will see why!

I have several times pointed against Egmont’s recent stories and also gave mine opinions about them. Some are bad, some are good. But Egmont has been around for some time, and I can’t say they have done very much harm to the Phantom during their more than 40 years of publishing their own stories, can you?
To be honest, I don’t like their struggle against a very structured family tree, and they have also been using the chronicles far too much for my liking.

What about Moonstone then?

Why so much “load” talks against them, as you say? Well, one thing is the fact that we have new “fans” of the Phantom who have never seen a Falk or Egmont story that now clime Moonstone to be “the way to go”, and “everything is OK as long as we like it”!
Then we have Moonstone’s take on the character, a grim and violence series filled with guns and blood from cover to the end of the story. I can’t find a single story from Egmont were we see such things. Do you wonder that I am a load speaker against them?
Then we have the last take on the ongoing books, a new “savior” has “studied” Falk and wants to make things good again, back to Falk is his motto! I did really hope that this would be something better than before, and in some ways it is.

But, and I have said it before, but you did ask Germ, the story is far too short to be the first of two parts, as I tried to tell you, 5 pages (Egmont standard with 7 instead of 3 panels on every page) would be enough, I am sure of that.
Then we have some elements that need to be explained, and that is never good in a story, at least not in a comic book.

I don’t know why the writer did put in the tigers as company to the Phantom, and I certainly do not know where in Falk he has seen such things before. If there is a single hint that the Phantom are being followed by a pack of tigers in a classic story, I would like to know because then there is a “hidden” Falk I have not seen.
I hope this clarify why I speak a bit loader against Moonstone than Egmont.

Ivan
